It's been nearly 50 years since Hobbs made it to the semifinal round of the football state playoffs. Thanks to a 30-19 win over Carlsbad at home in the quarterfinal on Friday night, the Eagles have a shot at their third state title in school history. But first they'll have to beat Cleveland at 1 p.m. Nov. 22 (next Saturday) in Rio Rancho in order to advance.
